Description
Native to Greece and specifically to the island of Chios in the Aegean Sea, the mastic tree is cultivated for its aromatic resin also known as mastic. It is obtained by extracting the resin into sunflower oil, virgin olive oil and tocopherol. It consists of unsaturated fatty acids such as oleic (Ω9) and linoleic acid (Ω6), which provide nutritional benefits to the skin. In addition, it is enriched in polyphenols, terpenes and vitamin E, which confer antioxidant, antimicrobial, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Mastic oil gives radiance to the skin, while improving its quality and texture. Therefore, it is recommended for anti-aging applications (due to its ability to neutralize free radicals), for moisturizing products (where skin rejuvenation is required), for acne and oily scalp (in order to absorb sebum and reduce imperfections), for toning and astringent applications (due to its ability to give radiance and tighten dilated pores of the skin), etc.
Storage conditions: store in a cool dry place out of the reach of children.
